Ready and Waiting

I have had few people ask about baby updates. I had my 38 week appointment yesterday. Everything looked good. The baby is measuring to be about 6 lbs 10 oz. Of course that is just an estimate. I am now officially dilated to a 2 but not softened at all. I had previously ask my midwife about inducing and we had talked about next Thursday, April 2nd. He said that by next week if nothing changes he would not even think about inducing at this point. There needs to be some softening as well as dilation. The baby's head is pretty far up there. He said that if we induced at this point we would make it a lot harder on me and the baby. And it would increase my chances of needing a C-section if the baby had a hard time. As anxious as I am to not be pregnant anymore and meet Devin I don't want to do anything that will make it harder than it needs to be. So at this point I have an appointment next Tuesday and we will see how things are progressing then. I guess it should come as no surprise that this baby will come when he is ready and not a moment before. We should be use to be patient. We have waited a long time for him. Right now I will be content to have some time to still prepare and get to sleep through the night except for the occasional visit to the bathroom.

Happy Birthday, Riley!

Riley turned 10 on Saturday! I can barely believe it! Can she really be that old? Here are some highlights from her day. She got a new blanket for her bed. It is a Littlest Pet Shop quilt. Her favorite part is the monkey, of course. The big gift was an American Girl doll. She got Molly. She has been asking for this doll for about 2 years. She wanted to have a Mexican fiesta for dinner. We had tostadas, cheese enchiladas, chicken taquitos, and beans. Notice her cake in the middle. We decided to call it Chocolate Overdose Cake. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate chips in the batter, chocolate frosting, decorated with mini chocolate chips on the outside edge and shaved chocolate on top.

Happy Feet!

For Christmas Missy gave me a gift certificate to have a pedicure done. She said to wait until I could reach my feet anymore and I wanted them to look nice for the big delivery day. I had never had a pedicure before. I took Mariah with me and we went yesterday. It was fun. The place we went to was very nice. It was fun to be pampered and our toes look very cute. It was fun to go with Mariah. I don't have any sisters so it is great to have daughters to go do girly things with. Thanks Missy for the gift certificate. It was a great gift idea.

Riley's Room

Riley's room is now finished. It was hard to take pictures of her room and have them do it justice. She has cute bookshelves and fun track lighting that goes around the whole shelf in room. She also has a waterbed that she is very excited about. We like it and she loves it. And for now we are finished with all 3 bedrooms with 2 weeks to spare. Hurray!

Thank goodness!

I have been out of it for a while. I got sick at the end of last week. I must have caught some sort of flu bug. I had a fever that I could not get rid of. My already uncomfortable body just hurt everywhere. Thank goodness for Justin! He took care of everything. He let me rest while he took care of the girls, kept the house clean, did all the laundry, and cooked all meals. All while finishing Riley's room and getting her moved downstairs. He even put up with all my complaining. I am so grateful he is such a good dad and husband.

Chopped

Last week I got my hair cut. My hair had gotten really long and I had a lot of it chopped off. This is my before picture. These are my after pictures. I really like it. It is a good haircut for warmer weather coming. It is so much cooler

Emily's Room

Emily's room is now done. The room has actually been finished for over a week but I was still finishing the quilt. It turned out so cute. Justin's dad came over and painted the ladybugs on the wall. He has painted all of the kid's rooms in our house. It looks great. We love that he do that for them. Here is Emily showing off her room.

Quilting

Emily's bedroom is decorated with ladybugs. I decided I wanted to make her a new quilt to match her room. On Wednesday the kids did not have school (teacher work day). Justin's mom and Natalie helped us tie the quilt. Mariah did a really good job of helping. I couldn't resist posting this cute picture of Riley and Cooper. Even Grandpa helped out. The quilt turned out really cute. It took a little longer than it normally would since we were teaching 3 girls how to tie the quilt. It was fun to be able to do it with the girls. Thank you Grandma and Natalie for your help.

Spring Fever

I had a serious case of spring fever today. It was over 60 degrees and beautiful. The kids had a chance to play outside and they didn't even have to wear a jacket. My daffodils have started to come up and I got all excited to start working in the yard. This is two weeks ago. We had a huge snowstorm. The roads were terrible and our yards were covered. We did spend some time out in the yard today. We actually planted some early frost peas today. We also have planted some annuals from seed this year again and we have them growing in the house. We tried this for the first time last year and we were somewhat successful. We got an earlier start this year and our plants are doing great. Justin and I spent some time today transplanting them to bigger containers. Justin has done a great job making lights and getting everything set up. It is hard not to be anxious and want to get them out in the yard. We got excited last year and lost quite a few plants. I can't wait for spring officially to be here. I am ready.
