Father's Day

This year for Father's day we got Justin a private fly fishing lesson. I got to go with him and fish too. We got to go up to Sportman's Paradise and fish the streams up there. Justin was able to get a ton of instruction and got even more fish. He caught a 4 pound brown trout. He said it was the best Father's day gift he has ever gotten. Now what do we do next year?

Messy Faces

Devin's first time this year roasting marshmallows. All he wanted to do was watch the marshmallow burn. Cupcake store in Logan. Nutella on toast for breakfast.

Comfy at Home

Did I mention we got a big bean bag? Here are so pictures of Mariah and Devin relaxing.

Living on a Houseboat

Justin took Riley and Mariah to Flaming Gorge. They got to stay on a houseboat with his dad, Tim and his dad's family. The girls had a great time. Here are some pictures (some are Tim's pictures) of their trip.

Two Guys and BBQ!

Justin, Devin, and I got to go to dinner a couple of weeks ago without the girls. They had a sleepover. We went to Texas Roadhouse and Devin got his first taste of ribs. They were a big hit.

Ice Fishing

I had problems getting my pictures to upload to blogger, so these are from President's Day. Justin took us ice fishing. He takes Mariah alot but the rest of us have never been. We went up to Pineview. He had a found a good spot a couple of days before and knew right where to set us up. We caught about 30 fish in about an hour. The kids had a blast. I think they actually had more fun ice fishing than regular fishing. It wasn't too cold and they could play in the snow. It was fun day. Mariah and Riley eating beef jerky while they wait for fish. Sometimes I think Mariah goes fishing just for the beef jerky. Scoooping the ice out of the hole. My fish. Look really hard and you might see it. Isn't it amazing?!

We love crab!

We went to the Festival of the Trees on Friday. One of my favorite Christmas traditions. I signed up for a new comittee since the board member I was working with resigned after last year. I get to help with the gingerbread houses next year (anyone interested in joining the committee with me?) Afterwards we went to eat at Joe's Crab Shack. Crab is Justin's favorite food and Emily loves it now too. Notice how proud she is in the picture that she got her own crab bucket.

Good Friends

I know I am such a slacker. I have been meaning to post this for 2 weeks. Our good friends Jenny and Eliott and their family came to Utah for Thanksgiving. They came and stayed with us. We had a great time with them. Since they are from California their kids really wanted to play in the snow. We got lucky and it snowed that night. The kids got to build snowmen. We invited Shaun and his girls over to dinner and as usual the guys had just as fun playing as the kids. This is the snowman they built in the backyard. Here are Justin, Shaun, and Eliott with all their kids. It is quite a group. The next day we went to Salt Lake. We went on the tour at Sweet's Candy Company. Here is a nice picture of all of us with our sexy hairnets. It is not a very good picture but it is only one I got with all of us. We took the kids to Temple Square. Since it was the Monday before Thanksgiving the Christmas lights were not on. But they were testing them and getting everything ready for the lighting ceremony. Jenny ask the men if they could maybe turn on the lights for us. They were so nice and turned the lights on for about 20 minutes. Long enough for us to walk around and enjoy them and see the Nativity. We are so blessed to have such good friends. We have been friends for such a long time now and our kids get along great when they are all together. We are looking forward to our next visit.

The losing streak has finally been broken. The Lions won their game today. I got a picture of Justin and Devin proudly displaying their team spirit.
